How could I handle a collection of movies ?
example:
I have all james bond movies grouped in a folder , All startrek movies in one folder.
TV series in a folder per series and the a folder per season.
When I add the folder series they are logged as File not imported. ( I do automatic only at the moment because I got a lot of pop-up for correcting the search field)

HI mrbert - if the methods described in the Wiki - Box Sets, Series Groups are not working for you then I need a bit more info to help you:

1. Are you saying the James Bond/Star Trek movies are grouped correctly but Series are not? Or neither work?
2. Can you give me the exact folder names/structure for the ones that do not work?
3. Which title handling method you are using? Folder or File?

Can you post your AMCUpdater.log (if it is really large you can delete it first, then run the test)

For your second issue - the Search method not working - Can you post a screenshot of the pop-up message you get?.

Once I update my environment to MP1.4 I'll do that.
As I am running everything on XP, that wasn't clear until recently.
Re problems reported about grabbing: IMDB grabbers need updating, as Amazon changed a lot on their site...

Any news on this?

MP1.4 related stuff mostly done - one issue left, which probably requires a bit more time, but test version already fine (and imdb grabber fixed)

No as far as I can see no of the grouped folders are grouped.
But maybe I need to update the dbase. Does this mean I have to start all over and delete all those files?

I configured like this:
Add all files to a group folder, such as add all Harry Potter films to a Harry Potter subfolder.. Then in AMC Updater settings:

1. on the Database Fields tab, select the 'Title Handling' option "Folder name as group identifier'
2. on the Import Movies tab set 'Title and Search Handling' to File or File + Internet Lookup - the folder name containing the movies files will be used as the Group name

To use harry potter as example, this is how the folders are named:
T:\movie\Harry Potter Collectie
T:\movie\Harry Potter Collectie\HARRY POTTER - 1 steen der wijzen 1
T:\movie\Harry Potter Collectie\HARRY POTTER - 1 steen der wijzen 1\HARRYPOTTERENDESTEENDERWIJZEN_TS
T:\movie\Harry Potter Collectie\HARRY POTTER - 2 de geheime kamer 2
T:\movie\Harry Potter Collectie\HARRY POTTER - 2 de geheime kamer 2\HARRYPOTTERENDEGEHEIMEKAMER_TS

Or james bond:

The pop-up only appears on importing and I cannot easy find how select the sub folder with the gouped files

ARGH sorry to take so long to get back to you @mrbert - I totally forgot! Did you get your Groups sorted out?

Your folder structure and settings look fine to me. But do you still have a search term entered on the Database Fields tab, select the 'Title Handling' option "Folder name as group identifier'? IIRC AMCU updater will only match groups based on the search term if one exists - maybe @Guzzi can confirm that? So if you are still having trouble, try removing the search term for groups.

Personally I don't use Groups that often because I sort my films by date descending, and groups only display as Groups when you sort by Name. In the few cases where I want them grouped anyways, I usually just use the GUI options and then display them in the Box Sets View.

BTW if you could do me a favor - could you check the new Groups Setup guide in wiki and let me know if that makes sense/would be helpful to you trying to setup groups?

IF there is a search term for groups existing, only those groups will be imported as groups, that DO have that search term - helpful, if you have all your movies in some sub dir structures, that you do NOT want to have imported as group names. If you remove that search term, all directory info above the movie itself will be used as group name.

I want to get started with the "My Film" Plugin and could not find the Plugin in MPEI. Isn't it compatible with MediaPortal 1.6 (if I deactivate the compatibility view in MPEI "My Film" becomes visible with a warning sign)?
