    Hi.
Im totally newbie at this, so I need some help. I have a computer with windows7, and I want to use it a server. There´s a folder with all video files inside, and I want this folder to be shared in my local network and out of it, by internet (with a user/password required logically).
Is there any guide or tutorial?
    Thx

Right click on the folder, click "Advanced Sharing". Make a name like "Movies". Hit Apply and Ok.

On another PC thats connected to the same local network, you should click : Start, Computer, Network(on the left hand side).
Here you will see the 1st Win 7 PC with a share inside called "Movies".
You will probably need access to the 1st PC. Here(on the 2nd PC), you need to use the login name and password that you use to log into your 1st PC.

You can right click the "Movies" share and select "Map Network Drive", and call it E: or F: or Z: or whater letter thats available.

In the Mediaportal configuration program, you set a folder share under "Video Folder". Use the driver letter or the "Movies" network share(by browsing to it like above).

    Hope this helps!
