Single Seat and Server Setup (1 Viewer)

As I continue reading before attempting my setup, can someone please clarify.....

When setting up a server setup, can you also use the server PC to also watch TV with, in addition to the client setups?

I'd like to get my server set up working fully, and to be able to watch TV, record, etc. And then make that next logical step to streaming it over the network to additional pc's.

Or for a server setup, is the server just acting as the server, and you can't watch tv, etc on the server machine?

Yes you can. Using just one PC, with both TVServer and client, is called "single seat".

This is what I do - The server is the client, all on one box, no networked clients (yet).
