[Suggestion] Weather-backdrop fitting to current weather (1 Viewer)

Hi guys (and girls if there are any )

I´m not sure if my thread is placed well in this sub-forum, but I think my suggestion is a "skin-thing".
(Please move the thread if I´m wrong.)

I had following idea:
In a lot of skins we have backdrops, for eyample in StreamedMP. Either there is one fixed backdrop for each menu item in basichome or there are several backdrops (from a folder) "cycling".

I think it would be nice if the backdrop for the weather-item fits to the current weather conditions.

What do you think of this idea and would it be possible?

Hi,

i read your suggestion with interest. I think this is a fantastic idea! So istarted thinking, if it would be possible.
I came up with the following:
You can have fullscreen weather images (fitting the current weather situatioin) in the myweathersection by doing the following:

- Go to your mp folder (where it is installed) and search for the "weather" folder. there you have an folder called: 128x128.

- Make a backup from this.

- replace the icons in this folder with with diffrent pngs fitting the weather style (see attached textfile). Make shure these images have the resolution of your skin.

- Edit the myweather.xml in a way, that the control with the id 21 (current weather icon) is scales and placed fullscreen like tihs:

This works great! but i have no idea how to do this on the homescreen

Your weather-screen looks really pretty. Does it belong to a "official" skin or is it your custom one?

Will try your solution, but would also be nice if a skin developer looks at this

yes, i found the weather images mainly on xbmc forums, plus a few i searched for my own.

i will announce this skin when my "private testing" is over ...
