Use MPTestTool from the Start menu to test and access logs needed.

Then use the advanced + feature to upload, thes logs should be Kb's in size.

Erm .. the testtool is not included with the TVserver ??
Could that be because I run tvserver as a standalone with streaming clients and its only included with mediaportal frontend ?
Had the problem just yet ..
When i checked the logs.. the error log showed a powerevent 537 constantly..
    what does that mean ?
unfortunatly I dont have the logs.. I was so smart to restart the tvservice.. and then the logs are cleared

will copy them the next time this happens..

i think this can be the same problem reported here:

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...mp-doesn-t-record-scheduled-recordings-34089/

this problem exists now since mid of january... and was not fixed! this is VERY annoying because since this date i (and other users) was not able to record a programmed movie in the background while listening music or doing nothing.
sorry, but how is "MP does NOT record scheduled recordings" related to "TV-Server does not STOP scheduled recording".

    maybe you can explain. ;)
    I Can..
as I did some research on this and read about every topic on this and other related stuff .. all problems are related to Windows XP and Firewire devices.

and in his attached error.log you will find
    " 2008-03-11 15:34:54.781250 [6]: TV service PowerEventThread 537"

    Conclusion:
This users didnt install the firewire patch for windows XP..
Its that simple.. even thought its mentioned in every requirement for installation .. ;)

Hello, same issue for me after upgrading tv server (and mediaportal) to svn version last weekend (16-03). I also installed the hotfix: "FIX: Flickering may occur after seeking when you play back interlaced content through the Video Mixer Renderer 9 (VMR9) with DXVA enabled in Windows XP"
When doing two recordings (partly overlapping), 1st recording finished correctly (after one hour of recording) although only 35 minutes are in the TS file, second recording doesn't stop. Can only bestopped by stopping the service. At this moment I'm at work, will do some testing and upload log file this evening. to be continued ;-)
    Kind regards,
    Ruud.

update: Hi, just installed svn18062, switched recording format to mpg (from ts), installed fix from Ronilse (streaminingserver.dll).
programmed two small recordings, overlapping each other.
    Both recordings ended.....
Will test some more with larger recordings....

Update II: tried some more, I am not able to reproduce... so above mentioned config is working for me.

Is everyone with this problem using ComSkip? If so, can you try disabling it? I think that may have solved my problem.

I also tried testing ComSkip through setuptv and I was prompted by Windows (XP) to allow the program to launch - it said something like "The publisher could not be verified - are you sure you want to run this software?". Once I said yes it ran normally and I was able to re-enable comskip.

Yep, it looks like a failure to launch ComSkip was the problem in my case. I upgraded to the latest SVN today and things are still working great. Anyone else?
