    Hi all,
I installed MP1.3.0 and included LAV filters V0.56. All videos play fine, except VC1.
On screen, the message "Unable to play VC1" appears.

    error.log says:
    " 2013-06-14 19:46:32.916146 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: PlaylistPlayer: *** unable to play ..."

Configuration and logs of LAV is attached. LAV Settings.png

My system is the "museum OS" XPSP3. Does that have an impact ?

Here is a link to the file, I'm trying to play: (It's already on my disk)

Could anybody point me into the right direction ?

    Thank for any help.
    /Gerd

Try disabling hardware decoding for VC-1 (I have a feeling that there might be a DXVA problem with VC-1 on XP).

Also check that VC-1 is enabled, and try ticking/unticking the 'Use Microsoft WMV9 DMO decoder....' option in the LAV Video 'Formats' section.

    Thanks for the quick answer.

How ? I did not find how to option in the LAV settings to just disable DXVA for just VC-1

Also check that VC-1 is enabled, and try ticking/unticking the 'Use Microsoft WMV9 DMO decoder....' option in the LAV Video 'Formats' section.

    VC-1 is enabled,see screenshot above.
"ticking/unticking the 'Use Microsoft WMV9 DMO decoder....' option" did not make any difference.

What I found out while inspecting the list of formats in both the " LAV splitter configuration and the "LAV video configuration" (i.e. the file extension),
WMV is missing in both lists.

That is a clear indication that LAV 0.56 is not able to decode WMV at all.

    Is my assumption correct ?

    Best regards
    Gerd
