Hi,

I have suddenly started getting the error message 'Unable to start timeshifting - unknown error occured' when entering Live TV. When I try to preview channels in the TV-Server Config, I get an 'Unknown Error'. The tv service was working fine yesterday, using svn18951. Turned on the PC, started MP today (no changes at all since yesterday) and started getting the message. I uninstalled MediaPortal and TV Server, reinstalled RC1 and installed svn19010. Still getting the same error messages. I uninstalled and reinstalled codecs. Still getting the same message. I have never had this problem before.

Thoughts anyone??

Edited(ronilse)
New MPFileWriter.ax can be found here(ronilse's server) or on Sourceforge (just stop TV Server & replace the MPFileWriter.ax in root folder to TV Server & start it again).

Very interesting. Mine was working 12 hours ago, and now I get the same problem. Restarted the PC, no diffs. Manually stop and start TVService, no diffs.

How weird is this that three working setups on different continents just suddenly give this error?

    I am on XP SP2 with MP RC1 + 1st SVN.

Me too. This has just started happening this morning. Thinking about going back to 2.3.0 again.

    EDIT:

UPDATE: Went back to 2.3.0. All good at the moment. If the problem arises again for me I'll post again.

I believe I have exactly the same problem.
Started at midnight. The TV service stopped.
In the morning, after starting the service I get The 'Unknown Error' while starting the time shifting on TV servers management console.
Tried To reinstall and upgrade from RC1 to the latest SVN Rev19010.
    Nothing helps.

Interesting - I changed the date to yesterday (02-05-08) and it works again. I changed the date to tomorrow (04-05-08) and it works. Does not work with the date set at 03-05-08.
    My TV card is analog.

    Cheers for that!

This is probably a date related issue.

Moved date 1 day back - Works fine!!!
Moved date 1 day forward - The 'Unknown Error' is back.

    Arik.
