when installing there is no option to select server and client on the same machine need to run setup twice to install these is that option left off for a reason or could it be added

also got the clients up and running with new version
i got multiple warnings about xp pro 64bit not supported but even that seems stable and working fine

    Hi,
    For me it's also a little bit confused. I don't know wich option i have to choose for my TVServer, because I use it as TV server and as client.

    Is
    "singleseat" -->TVServer and Client?
    "TVServer" --> only TV server?
    and "Client" --> only client?

    For me singleseat mean I can't use a client on an other computer. Maybe it's wrong but the help is not clear

    nope, singleseat means that the TV-Server will be installed on the same PC as the "Client". :)
    on the next screen you will then be able if you want to install an SQL server also, or connect to one which is allready present somewhere on the system / lan.

    for MediaPortal only you would have had to select that you do not want HD-TV in the screen before.

    i know that some texts are not "perfect" yet (like this one). they will be tweaked for Rc2 release. :)

    sub folders are by default only generated for "series" recordings.

    if you only create a "once" schedule, then it wont be stored in a subfolder (makes no sense to have one folder with only one file in it :) )

    you can completely change that behaviour in "TV-Server Configuration -> recording settings -> custom path's and filenames"

    i.e.
    Movies- > Movies\%title% - %channel% - %date%
    Series- > Series\%title% - %channel%\%title% - %date% - %start%

    this would the create the following folder structure:
    • Movies
      • Cars - Disney Channel - 2008-04-18.ts
      • Aladin - Disney Channel - 2008-04-18.ts
    • Series
      • House MD - ORF 1
        • House MD - 2008-04-16 - 20:15.ts
        • House MD - 2008-04-17 - 20:15.ts
        • House MD - 2008-04-18 - 20:15.ts
      • Kim Possible - Disney Channel
        • Kim Possible - 2008-04-16 - 20:15.ts
        • Kim Possible - 2008-04-17 - 20:15.ts
        • Kim Possible - 2008-04-18 - 20:15.ts

    pretty much config options. :)
