Hello, I just was given an older system that works mostly (had to fix the heat sinc, etc) and it only has PCI. I was thinking of turning it into a media pc since its heads above my other one. So, to the question : is the WinTV-PVR-150 also a video output device? Would i need a second video card to display on a tv monitor?

If i do indeed need a seperate video card would a low end pci card with tv out work? It will just be used for tv, movies, etc, no gaming.

Or is this old rig without AGP basically worthless for a HTPC?

The PVR-150 will not output video so youll need a seperate vidoe card. Its still fine to use if you can get yourself a PCI version of the Nvidia 5200. Thats a DX9 card and should work nicely but it would also depend on the speed of this system you want to use.
