Getting Hauppauge Remote for NOVA-T-500 to work

Hi,

Just to let you know if your having problems with the remote for the NOVA-T-500, I found out that version on the driver CD for IR32.exe is out of date. It needs to be the following or later: IR32_v2.51.24289.0

Mine's also works now using this version, here's what I did to resolve it:

1. Ensure the IR reciever jack is firmly inserted in the NOVA-T 500, you may smirk

, but the PCI slot divider on my MSI MEGA 180 slightly overlapped the 3.5mm jack plug on the NOVA-T 500 backplate and it took a bit of wiggling to get it seated correctly.

2. If you have installed any version of the IR drivers/software e.g. using CD version 2.5E, close the IR tray control applet.

3. If they exist delete the following files:

C:\Program Files\WinTV\irremote.DLL
C:\Program Files\WinTV\Ir.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hcwutl32.dll

4. Run the above file, IR32_v2.51.24289.0.exe, to re-install the IR app.

5. Enable Hauppauge remote in Mediaportal setup.
