Hi Green_Star,

are you using the tutorial?
And how did you convert your recordings to mpeg?

Regards

Default comskip edl and MediaPortal

Is there anyway to get MediaPortal to use the comskip edl file to skip ads, without having to cut them out?

broadscott - I don't know of anyone pursuing this yet.

I notice that comskip/comclean will now do dvr-ms files. I plan on checking into this soon and will post a 'how to' for this as well.

It's easy to schedule a post capture task to use comskip to scan the file and flag all the commercials and output an edl. I have no idea about coding, but I really think the ability for MediaPortal to be able to read an edl would be handy. GB-PVR and MPlayer can read edit decision lists.

Does anybody use this plugin and have altered the ini file to better detect commercials?

The default value is:
detect_method=43

But it is hit and miss...sometimes it detects correctly and sometimes it cuts portions of a program off...

Any ideas or suggestions

thanks

I just found the link to it....I'll study it.
Are the defaults (I changed to NTSC) 'ok' values or does it need tweaking?

thanks

There are many people that have good results with the default ini file.
Which version of comskip do you use?
There is no need to set NTSC or PAL????
