Default TIP:How to convert dvr-ms files to MPEG2 files

The My TV module in Mediaportal records movies to the .dvr-ms format
Reason for this is that we're using the streambuffer engine todo timeshifting & recording Live TV. this engine can only record to the .dvr-ms format
The .dvr-ms format basiccly contains the MPEG2 data and an extended header

Many people wonder how they can convert the dvr-ms files to .mpg so they can burn it on a DVD
For this you can download a freeware program called DVDRipper from
http://www.xpmce.com/index.php?optio...y&filecatid=14

This program will convert the .dvr-ms to .mpeg for you

DVR Ripper did not work for me. I tried it some weeks ago already. When I load a file an error message is displayed and the program terminates. Perhaps because I am using Windows XP instead of MCE.

But the Graphedit method works perfect.

I've had the same problem... unable to get DVR Ripper to work on my XP Pro machine.

Can anyone comment on whether or not it's compatible with XP Pro?

Is there a work-around?

Thanks,

don't use the dvr ripper. use the graph edit method. it works fine!
