a bug or a feature?

after installing win xp sp3, computer hangs at going to hiobernation screen.
no hibernation possible.
after deeinstalling this svn hibernation is working normal.
without sp3, hibernation is also working with this svn.
i am not sure, but i think the same problem occurs in the svn before.
can aynone confirm this?

Hi,
when turning on tv I get an "unknown error occured"-message. The same thing happens when I hit the StartTimeShift button in tv-server-configration.
The logs don't show anything abnormal:

All the other svn's and RC1 worked well. Did a complete reinstall of MP. Tried both of the TVPlugin-dll's, but with no luck.

Anyone else out there with the same issue?

I got the same problem since RC1.
I now use the myMPlayer plugin, which solves the problem for me.

Now solved by installing the newest ffdshow tryout.
Avi files play again in MP internal player

Hi,

I know this is a perennial problem, but I cannot scan any analogue channels with MP. And it isn't just that I can't do it in this SVN, I have actually NEVER managed to get it to work. I noted form posts for some of the other releases (most notably those from ARE2 - I think that was the name) that this problem is not uncommon and many users experience the same problems. For my part, I have run MP under XP and Vista and the behaviour is consistent - analogue channels are not a happening thing. By contrast the (crappy) Hauppaugge software works with my set-up, as does Cyberlink Power Cinema (and in the past I've tried GBV which I think was happy too). I have tried it without any Hauppaugge software (except for drivers) and which all the Hauppaugge software (and with just the codecs installed). It never makes any difference. Like the other users I have the following symptoms:

1. Scan takes about 3-4 minutes to complete. No tuner lock, no channels found
2. Makes no difference if source is cable or antenna
3. Country makes no difference
4. Once selected you can't leave the analogue tuning screen in the config (see screen shot, note the header!)
5. Once you've tried to tune the OK button no longer closes the config app (you have to click the 'X')
6. Once you've tried to tune Manual Control continues to report "Scanning" for BOTH analogue adapters (have to stop/start service to clear) - see screen shot.
7. Error message says something about installing audio codec - but I think this may be bogus...

I deleted all my logs then started the TV Service and did a scan, so the logs should be pretty clean except for the bits you'll be interested in.

I only care as in New Zealand there is one channel which is NOT digital (TV companies playing games with each other) but it has good stuff and I'd really like to be able to watch it...plus it is supposed to work...so we should fix it.

If there is anyone out there that does have the analogue going on an HVR3000, perhaps you can write a how-to that details how you've got the tuners grouped (in terms of hybrids - perhaps there is a trick here) and what Hauppaugge software you've got installed etc. - we just can't get it to go...

PLUS - if there's anything you need me to try just let me know....

Hi, I'd love a fix for this too as I have the same issue. (Although I'm still on RC1) I have the HVR4000 card and cannot get analogue to work. I assume the analogue part is the same as the HVR3000. I understand that neither card has hardware encoding but would have thought that with a suitably powerful PC that software encoding would be fine.
As with your experience, I've had analogue working fine with the Hauppauge software and Power Cinema. It's only MP that I can't get it to go with.
I'm on the verge of buying another tuner card (with hardware encoding) to solve this but it would be great if there was another way around it.

I can confirm this issue here too, i always have to use the mouse and move her over one of the fields, so they can be selected by remote again. I noticed this problem in this svn only.

The stuttering (video only, audio is normally) caused by creating or accessing the next timeshift-file still exists :-(( No difference, if timeshift-files are on system-hdd or on separate (empty and therefore not fragmented) hdd or with increased size (1024 MB). This problem was already noticable in the last svn's, but still no solution.

hi guys,

I think i found a sql related problem. For an unknown reason the tvserver messes the database up.
If this happend i can't start neighter livetv nor the epg. Instead an error message comes up saying "Timeshift konnte nicht gestarted werde" (Unable to start timeshifting).

The MySQL admin show a broken table (take a look at the first picture).
The second and the third picture shows how to fix this problem and get the tv back working.

I had this problem just a time ago, already. It was the same table effected. Sadly I don't know how to reproduce this. If you have any suggestions let me know about it.

I just noticed that i don't use the latest svn build. My version is mediaportal-svn-05-31-2008--14-18-Rev19228. So if this was already reported, or if there were changes in the "database code" sincen then, just delet my post

Try disabling the VMR9 Exclusive Mode.

Also making sure that the divx tray icon is not interfering (as by default its stealing the focus from MP and it will most likely trigger d3d lost device on Exclusive mode. Shame on the divx guys )

Had that problem too. I used the hauppauge ir control with iiremote.ini. I switched to the internal hauppauge remote of mp to solve that some weeks ago. There is an option "Keep control when MP looses focus.
