Country: | Hi, I'm having a lot of problems with the TV Service crashing when I scan for channels... Setuptv.exe crashes and the TV service crashes as well as it prompts to start the tv service when I restart the TV Server configuration. The error.log file shows the following: Code: 2008-04-07 17:58:44.968 750 [7]: Exception :System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host Server stack trace: at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Receive(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 size, SocketFlags socketFlags) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketStream.Read(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 size) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketHandler.ReadFromSocket(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 count) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketHandler.BufferMoreData() at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketHandler.Read(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 count) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketHandler.ReadAndMatchFourBytes(Byte[] buffer) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpSocketHandler.ReadVersionAndOperation(UInt16& operation) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpClientSocketHandler.ReadHeaders() at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpClientTransportSink.ProcessMessage(IMessage msg, ITransportHeaders requestHeaders, Stream requestStream, ITransportHeaders& responseHeaders, Stream& responseStream) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.BinaryClientFormatterSink.SyncProcessMessage(IMessage msg) Exception rethrown at [0]: at System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.HandleReturnMessage(IMessage reqMsg, IMessage retMsg) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.PrivateInvoke(MessageData& msgData, Int32 type) at TvControl.IController.Scan(Int32 cardId, IChannel channel) at SetupTv.Sections.CardDvbT.DoScan() 2008-04-07 17:58:44.968750 [7]: Exception :An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host 2008-04-07 17:58:44.968750 [7]: site :Void HandleReturnMessage(System.Runtime.Remoting.Messaging.IMessage, System.Runtime.Remoting.Messaging.IMessage) 2008-04-07 17:58:44.968750 [7]: source :mscorlib 2008-04-07 17:58:44.968750 [7]: stacktrace: Server stack trace: at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Receive(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 size, SocketFlags socketFlags) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketStream.Read(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 size) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketHandler.ReadFromSocket(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 count) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketHandler.BufferMoreData() at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketHandler.Read(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 count) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.SocketHandler.ReadAndMatchFourBytes(Byte[] buffer) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpSocketHandler.ReadVersionAndOperation(UInt16& operation) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpClientSocketHandler.ReadHeaders() at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpClientTransportSink.ProcessMessage(IMessage msg, ITransportHeaders requestHeaders, Stream requestStream, ITransportHeaders& responseHeaders, Stream& responseStream) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.BinaryClientFormatterSink.SyncProcessMessage(IMessage msg) Exception rethrown at [0]: at System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.HandleReturnMessage(IMessage reqMsg, IMessage retMsg) at System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.PrivateInvoke(MessageData& msgData, Int32 type) at TvControl.IController.Scan(Int32 cardId, IChannel channel) at SetupTv.Sections.CardDvbT.DoScan() |

Although so far my htpc runs with an admin account on XP, I really like the current trend to make as may programs as possible runable with only user rights. This way it would be much harder for malware authors to exploit possible errors in TV-Server like buffer overflows or things like that. | |
