Pictures and high CPU useage

Hi,

I'm finding that when I view pictures I am getting a very high CPU useage, and the fans in my machine become very noisy as a result. Everything else works at acceptable CPU useages including video and music, but viewing pictures always increases the CPU load.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

I am using V0.2.3.0 RC1

Post the log files, this might be a bug because I think something not long ago changed in the code part for viewing pics...

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I've checked the log and it seems that there arre tremendous amount of database related log messages when viewing pictures. Below is an extract, I have alos attached the full log to this post. Thanks for your help.

I also have a very high CPU usage on both my kernels while viewing images in slideshow! Using dualview with Nvidia.

I think the high CPU usage comes from the thumbnails being generated. Unfortunately it seems to do this every time. If you wait for all the thumbnails to be generated you'll find that the CPU useage drops off.

I've also noticed this, even though, it seemes strange that it has to take up so much cpu for that ...

If some subsystem (HD etc.) isn't limiting the CPu processing then of cource something like thumbnail generation is going to use 100% CPU. Also there is not reason why it should run on lover CPU utilization level.
