frame by frame forward no longer working using Video Editor plug-in in MP 0.2.3.0 ??

Hi guys,
I was excited to install the new release 0.2.3.0 but I noted a strange behavoiur in the video editor plugin: I cannot move the file forward frame by frame as I used to do in the previous version. As soon as I push the button "forward" or click on the slider, the movie start playing and become almost impossible to select the file "slice" I wanted.

Is anybody else faced this problem ?

Any suggestion to back to the behavoiur we used in video editor plug-in 0.2.2.0

The Slider is a good idea however it is quite course meaning as it steps fwd in approx 1 min intervals. Then using the Fwd/Bk keys is tedious as they only step in 1 sec intervals. Whats worse is the Bk key is fighting against the fwd direction of the video, so 1 sec steps become even less.
