Default Movie Database: How to use the watched flag

I am trying to setup a view showing only the movies I haven't watched so far. But it seems the watched field is not behaving like the others. How can I used the watched field to either separate the watched from the not watched or restrict the view to only showing the not watched?

Any help appreciated.

Without coding effort this is not possible.

You can change the sorting order to show your files based on how often you've seen them though. Reversing that order would present you all unwatched files first.

Hello rtv,

thanks for your answer. I will try to use your workaround then, but it might be a nice idea to be able to use all the fields in the database really flexible.

Regards

I was playing around in the config last night and noticed there was a 'view' option. Is it not possible to customise a view to show only watched or unwatched videos/movies?

I tried it but it wasnt remembering my new view. Nor would it remember a new video folder I added mind you... I am running 0.2.2.0

Not sure if this issue is a new bug raised in 0.2.2.0 or if it is a system permission issue on my hard drive at the moment. It may be permissions as I have gone from Vista back to XP but didnt do a full format.

I gotta say though, MP is so much better (and easier to use) than MCEXP or MCEVista. Very unhappy with both at this stage.

You can create a view with only those videos you haven't watched.

In the configuration application go to Movies -> Movie Views, click on the drop down box next to "view" and click on new. Put in a name ("Unwatched" or something) and then set "selection" to "watched", "operator" to "=" and "restrict" to 0. Save the view.

This uses the watched tag so you can set this manually or MP will automatically set it once you have watched a video right to the end. This works fine for me.
