Hi guys.
Vacation is over and I'm back with a release for RC2.

This WindowPlugins.dll now supports:
* Enhanced stacking option, allows files including name.cd1.avi (with a dot) to get stacked, not only [_- ]cd1.

* Option to not show the filestackingdialog that asks you which part to play, just resume or start from the beginning. (default: Not show dialog)

* Option to scan movies at IMDB (or similar) with foldername instead of filename as search option. It is now possible to exclude files or folders from scanning that contains specific strings, like 'sample' to avoid some weird results from search. It is also possible to remove specific words (user defined) from from the search string, (like divx, 720p). (Default: Use foldername).

* OneClickOption. If folder contains only one movie, there is no need to drill down into this folder and then click on the movie. This fixes this. If folder has files like:
/MovieName/movie.avi
/MovieName/movie-sample.avi, it's possible to exclude the sample file with the
exclude option, or a folder named sample (or whatever, configurable). (Default: on)
Thanks Stoked, for this idea. This is a very nice feature in my eyes

The downloadfile includes the Windowplugins.dll and a small tool to configure all settings.
Replace the original WindowPlugins.dll in <MP-path>\plugins\windows\, or rename the old one first.
Put MyModdedVideosConfig.dll in <MP-path>\plugins\process\.

Now there is possible to configure these settings in MP Configuration - plugins - processplugins - Modded MyVideos.

I have now fixed some bugs and added the new files for download:
Download here

Edit: The folder scanning only works like this from within MP itself, since no changes are done to MP Configuration.

Enjoy...

awesome! I'll check this this out, now
hope you had a great holiday

edit:
hm, I copied the 2 files to my folder and enabled the plug-in
I also added some expressions: r5, ld, xvid, dvd5, 720p, bluray, x264, dts, proper...
but the scanner in the "movie database" still uses the filenames instead of foldernames

do I have to change anything here?

the imdb scan in MP itself works fine

Sorry RoXoR

Never mentioned that the foldername scanning only works in MP itself.

I never changed anything in Configuration so that uses the regular MP scanning.
My thought was that it is somewhat overkill to update the MP Configuration part also when new changes is added by the MP devs since this is not a standalone plugin, but an update of the internal MP components.

Yes, I agree that it would be nice but I'm not sure I will get into that.

Hope it works satisfactory anyway.

Hope you had a good vacation Solis66! Working great so far. Thanks! BTW, have you checked out gamejester's IMDB mods? Maybe you could work together?

Movies - enhanced details + cover retrieval + auto matching

Hi Stoked. 15 countries in 18 days, some wonderful alpine roads on motorcycle trough whole Europe. Yes,it was great.

I see that gamejester seems to be doing some great work. However, his changes seems to go through several core parts of MP. which makes it harder to keep MP up to date with svn's.
All my mods, but the IMDB scanning, are related to MyVideos plugin for more simplicity. This makes it easier to keep the system up to date so I don't have to mess around too much with the original MP dll:s. The imdb part is a little hack where I moved some imdb functionality to MyVideos part. That is also why it don't work in MP Config.

I'll guess we'll see how it goes with his mod, could be great. I see that another exciting plugin, Moving Pictures, also is under development for movies.

The downside is that its hard to use db driven design when you have a lot of small movie clips without any special information. It's almost impossible to get them into a db correctly.
In this case, one would have to trust the shares view and a very good order in the file structure to be able to navigate booth movies and all small movie clips in a easy way.

That is why my small mod got developed in the first way, an easy way to get a little better order, but not perfect, of course.
I'll keep this mod updated, and perhaps add some feature if someone has a good request.
We'll see how it goes in the future...

Wow, sounds like fun! Haven't been on a motorcycle in years. I assume you weren't on a sportbike,

BTW, I don't know if this is possible, but I was wondering if you can change the behaviour of sorting in My Videos. My problem is I'd like to use sort by Date to see what my latest additions are. However, when you IMDB scan, MP puts a folder.jpg file in the folder which updates the modify time of the directory. Since MP is sorting directories and not files, it sorts by the modify time of the folders. Ideally, it would ignore the folder modify time and use the movie file modify time instead. Sounds like this may be outside the scope of this plugin but thought I'd ask.

Not really a sport bike. Yamaha FJ1200 is categorised as a sport-touring, powerfull enough so we had fun with it. even though i actually had a passenger with me the whole time.

Why not ask. I'm starting to think that nothing concerning movies is outside the scope any more. Can it be done so why not...
I will look into that to see if its possible. right now I have no idea were this check is done but i can try to do this.

We'll see...

Thanks Solis66, your plugin definitely works great. BTW, think I found a bug, if I'm playing a x264 movie, push the back button to show my videos but still have the movie playing in the small preview screen, and then select a folder that has an iso, it crashes MP. I tested iso to iso, and iso to x264, both work fine. It only crashes x264 to iso.

UPDATE: mediaportal.exe is still running, but I only see desktop when it "crashes".
