Set watched status

Is it possible to manually flag that I have watched a video?

Currently, having watched something, a context menu option appears to reset the watched status.

Is there any way to add a context menu option to set the status to watched?

My main reason for this is that I use an external player (to help me with subtitle and audio options) and MP doesn't recognize that I've watched things.

You can just show the IMDB info for the movie and set the status to watched from there.
