Default Video Compression

I don't know anything about video editing, but I have a quesiton.

I would like to take my recorded TV shows and compress them down to a smaller resolution (240*320) so I can fit them on my PDA.

What program should I use to do this?

Note: The file type isn't really a big deal b/c the PDA will play almost anything.

My recommendation would be to use the DiVX encoder (www.divx.com).
It's a straight drag-and-drop interface and is easy to configure to produce 240*320 output.

As an alternative try DVD Catalyst 2.0 (www.dvdcatalyst.com)

or

Omniquiti Lathe (www.omniquiti.com)

I watch a LOT of video on my PDA and with modern PC it is very easy to produce the required conversions wth very little effort.

BTW - what are you using to view video on the PDA - if you aren't using the CorePlayer software you're missing out!

Hope this helps

TCPMP, have had that since it was Beta player.

I was hoping for free software (I am a poor student).

What kind of PDA do you use?

I got a Axim x50v (I know it is a 640*480 screen, but i want 320*240 video to save memory).
