mmh, you should have a video, cause this has nothing to do with mpeg or dvrms.
it is the build in mp video player which shows the video.
Could you try Blue two 4:3 ?

Yes, I tried Blue two 4:3, no difference at all.

The videos I try to edit are played in MP without any problem (in MyVideos).

Hi JueLue,

I got preview for dvr-ms and mpg-files, here.

This is what I did.
1. Recorded a show with standart myTV plugin (not TVServer) as a dvr-ms file
2. converted this file to mpg with VideoEditor
3. cutted this converted mpg-file with VideoEditor (got a nice preview)
4. played the cutted movie in myVideo

I tried with MediaPortal 0.2.2 and latest SVN from today.

What SVN are you using?-> Please try with the latest one.
Where did you get your mpg-files from? Do you use the TVServer Plugin?
Did you ever tried with a dvr-ms file?

When choosing a file for editing, VideoEditor starts the file paused.
If you got a black frame first, it seems that nothing happens. Just press Play on your
remote or p on your keyboard to start the video.
Maybe that's the clue?

Regards
Ralph

Hello together

First of all: Thank you very much for this wonderful tool, it's very useful.
But there still two problems in my case:
1: When I have a very long capture (longer 5 hours) VideoEditor shows me just a length of 5 hours. Can I change this limit somewhere?

2: When I start VideoEditor and close it, it's no more possible to start VideoEditor again. I have to restart Mediaportal. I could see this phenomenon on two different computers.

I'm using the version 0.2.2. Any Ideas?

Thanks for your help.

PS: And Ralph: I see you have a PVR 350 too. I have a problem, that when I schedule something and my mediacenter wakes up from hibernate mostly I have no audio. Do you know anything about that?

Hi Rene,

1. needs to be tested. But first I need to record such a long show.

2. It's a bug since MP version 0.2.2.0.
Take a look at My Video-Editor only opens once. and scroll down.
There you will find a tweak for that, until it's in SVN.

PS: I don't have any problems with sound.
For TV I use these codecs.
- video decoder: MPV
- audio decoder: MPA
- audio renderer: default directsound device

Regards
Ralph

Hello Ralph

Thanks for your answer. I already find the hint with the ID, so it works now and i gave this information to the german community as well.

It would be nice if somebody could show for my problem with the lenght. This week i recordet the hole night and now I have more than 8 hours. Ok, I could use another program, but it would be easier to use Mediaportal directly. Maybe another question about Video editing: It's not possible to relly cut a movie into two parts? So it's not necessary to copy the movie and the process would be faster.

My sound problem: I use the same codes like you. Always when I start recording from hibernate I have no sound. There is not simply volume = zero, there is no audio part. When I start Mediaportal from hibernate self, mostly works. And one more about the 350: Do you know anything about the bitrate? I can change the settings in Mediaportal, the quality and size still the same.

I know this part is off topic, but nobody could help until know.

Thank you very much.

PS: Schöne Grüsse in unseren nördlichen Nachbarkanton. Ich hoffe, mein Englisch war genug verständlich... und sonst halt

Finally I got a 6h recording, that I can test.
Right you are, only 5h are displayed in VideoEditor.
Hope kaybe can fix this.

for testing

PS: Your Audio Problem sounds strange.
Did you also tried to change audio renderer, too?

Regards
Ralph

Hello Ralph

Thanks to confirm this error. Hope for a fix too. Thanks to kaybe.

And my sound problem: Of course I testet all possible modes I have. I testes different drivers, and try to live with this problem... Maybe I have to test another TV card.

Best regards

Rene
