Link is still working.
What browser are you using?
Noticed some problems with IE6.
Just copy the link into a new browser-window and try again.

Ralph

Default Cut crashes MP if filename-original already exists

Hi guys! I think there's a bug with Video Editor. I'm using 0.2.3.0 with SVN from 2008-01-17. If I'm cutting a file, and it has already been cut so that filename-original already exists, then when I click Cut, MP crashes. (I think this is with .mpg files, but it may also be the case with other extensions. I've done it a couple of times to make sure I can reproduce it. Let me know if you can't reproduce, and I'll send logs.
  1. Open file for Cut
  2. Mark a clip, then click cut.
  3. exit cut.
  4. Select the same file (without the -original suffix) and start Cut again
  5. Mark a clip and click Cut. MP crashes.

Many thanks

Hi Ralph!

you videoeditor is a really great piece of software! i like it. nice work.

i have some questions:

Quote:
quick and easy to use mpeg to Divx conversion:
You need mencoder for that. --> Download
Please unzip the mencoder.exe into your MediaPortal folder.
If you got mencoder already on your system, you can change the path to mencoder in VideoEditor configuration.
i did these steps. cutting works fine. but how can i then convert a file to divx? i see no options or anything in the videoeditor.

then also seem to be a codec problem or something. i am no expert, so its only a sugestion

if i choose a other codec then descaler-mpg2-video-decoder, i get no picture in the videoeditor preview-window.
i would be lucky if you can help me, if you find the time.

keep going on the good work.

greetings

parkuhr

Hello guys,

nearly a masterpiece this plugin of yours.
Is there any chance of cutting more precise, meaning frame-accurate and not 'only" in steps of 1 sec?

Hi parkuhr,

firts you need mencoder.exe for divx conversion.
If the Link in first Post deosn't work please google for it.

Best would be to save mencoder.exe directly into you MediaPortal-folder
e.g.: C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal

Wehn starting Videoeditor you can choose in left upper corner what you would like to do:
- cutting
- joining
- convert drm-ms to mpeg
- convert mpeg to divx

Choose mpeg tp divx and select your file.
! But please be aware that you have an mpeg file!

A pop-up will appear and you can change some setting for divx conversion.

Regards
Ralph
