Hi all, I made the same experience. The last version I got the EPG filled was 0120. I never got any EPG data for later builds. The EPG grabbing thread stops after a few seconds (10sec?) and prints the following line into the log

"epg ready. added 0 events to database! Next grab at 01/01/0001 00:00:00"

To me it looks like a time out, but the information in the log is not very verbose. I tested almost every day a CVS build but it never worked.

I don't know but in more the 100 channels i'v got EPG data for 5 of them and always the same 5 channels with quickly and correct data, but the others dont never grab nothing !!!

I have the same problems - BBC is very erratic and there is not data for the music channels and news channels. ITV is fine.

Are there any logs I can post to help out diagnose what is causing this issue?

The EPG grabber in all CVS builds for 0.1.3.0 only ever has a successful grab the very first tme the TV (DVB-T Nebula ) is started .

Checking the log shows no other grab entries only

This as an example ; changing channels and /or mux results in no grab.

Closing MP with TV on a different MUX will successfuly grab for that MUX when MP is restarted and TV launched .

This must be a bug in the grabber .

A successful grab when moment before no grab.

I still find it baffling that the EPG grabber isn't being set for the UK DVB-T broadcast EPG that has ALL MUX and CHANNEL info available on any one channel .

then you will get the epg of BBC1 offcourse
however within the same transport stream some other channels are
transmitted. lets say BBC World and BBC Prime

I really wish my Nebula would grab EIT correctly! Is there a fix?

Frodo, this is incorrect, for the UK, each mux carries EIT actual and EIT other info.

"The Event Information Table provides schedule information about events on a service. This includes the event name, start time duration and the status of the event. This table is actually split in to two separate tables: the EIT-present/following, which contains information about the current and next events, and the EIT-schedule, which contains other schedule information. These in turn can be split into tables describing the current (actual) transport stream and other transport streams. It is mandatory for the transport stream to contain the EIT-present/following for the actual transport stream, while other EIT tables are optional"

The latest CVS build has the best EPG grap for the UK , all eight days and for all channels on all MUX's from my NEBULA pci

The LOG was HUGE.

The LOG showed that the grab took about five minutes and needed to stay on the same channle for this or it reset if channel or mux change .

Thanks. Best EPG grabber so far.

But there is still troubles in case of multilingual EIT stream.

And new thing is that now every other program is missing from EPG even if only finnish is selected by the setup. If both Finnish and Swedish are selected, every other program is still missing but programs shown are randomly (order they happens to be in data stream) finnish or swedish.

There is a problem which I beleive is connected with the EPG grabber and the database update .

As there is a lot of data from this grab the logs show that the database update can take anything form a minute while TV only is viewing but if MP is recording or playing a file this can take longer.

The downside is the database update utilises 100% cpu which is causing recordings to become corrupt as the database updates.

Playing back the recoridngs shows MP locks and loops at the exact time that the databse update occured while the recoding took place.

Is anyone else seeing this problem.
