Default EPG for NZ

Hi guys,

I just found out the the number of channels available from the site used by WebEPG has been reduced from when I frist created the config.

Before ontv.orcon.net.nz was redirected to -> nz.ontv.uni.cc

However, this redirection seems to be gone and the XML link at the bottom of ontv.orcon.net.nz doesn't work anymore, but ontv.orcon.net.nz/listings.xml does. However, the number of channels is only 6 now.

Does anyone know what has happened here or when it happened ?

I will look at adding new sources to WebEPG.

/James

Hi James,

I'm not sure if the two sources were ever related, but this may be of interest:

http://mr.geek.nz/2005/11/03/cease-and-desist-letter/

There used to be an xml feed hosted at his site, which is now gone. Perhaps the ontv.orcon site was just a mirror of this?

This still exists, but I have no idea if it works properly (and it's zipped):

http://hairy.geek.nz/epg/latest.xml.gz

As far as I'm aware the only other method for NZ listings is www.reven.co.nz and XMLTVNZ, which is a screen-scraping method.

Ive added tvnz.co.nz and primetv.co.nz support to WebEPG.

These file will be in the next svn or can be downloaded here:

http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.c...G/grabbers/NZ/

I will added add tv3 and c4tv soon.

Cheers,

/James

Hi guys,

ontv.orcon.net.nz seem finally dead as a source. It seems the guide data has not been updated since: 01.04.2006 Its a pity as it was only one download to get all the guide information for many channels.

I am working to add the sites used by XMLTV to WebEPG as I posted in the email above. Could onesome test that these sites are working?

Thanks,

/James

My XMLTVNZ ran a few hours ago and worked ok, so guess that means the sites are working.

I never could get the WebEPG to go, so I just stuck with XMLTVNZ.

James

these are the main tv channels that most people would want

www.tvnz.co.nz - TV1 and TV2
www.tv3.co.nz - TV3
www.c4tv.co.nz - C4
www.primetv.co.nz - Prime

im not sure if this helps but www.sky.co.nz has listings for tv3 c4 and prime - not sure about tv1 and tv2 though

i looked at the grabber tonight and could only see tv1 tv2 and prime so if you can get the others i will test to see how things go.

cheers

James don't know if you know about this site but they have an xml file that has a weeks worth of tv listings and it has every channel!

http://desktop-1.no-ip.org/epgmce.htm

Click on Weekly XML (takes a while to download!)
