My System

Default How to use DigiGuide

Hi All

I'm trying to use Digiguide data in TV3 but don't get any data, I can configure WebEPG to get all the data from RadioTimes, but when I switch to Digiguide grabber I don't get anything.

The only thing I can think of is that I haven't entered a password for my subscription anywhere. Is this my problem?

Ta Mark

I've got the grabber to work by entering my username and password into the digiguide application, and this creates an 8meg tvguide.xml file, but TV3 won't import it all it starts to populate the guide but then after 5 mins it all goes blank.

Also the reason for using digiguide was to get better season, episode data, but that doesn't appear does mediaportal support this information?

Media Portal doesnt support series/episode data, even if you try and take data from an xml importer.
Its a real shame as this would make series recording soo much easier.

If I'm wrong then someone will hopefully put me right.

Ben

Digiguide, that the same company that M$ gets its tv data from i think, and it is a lot more comprehensive than the normal epg's available.

I'm sure in the future MP2 will be able to parse the series data, but not with the existing setup, and i have seen no one suggesting\attempting to implement this for the near future.

BTW, there is a application out there that if you are running mce, you can import its epg into MP.

ok thanks PD, I'm surprised nobody has asked in the past for series, episode information as you're right digiguide is so much better than the OTA guide.

Presumably it wouldn't be that hard to add %series% %episode% to the %description% builder in TV3 and just fudge the description field together.
