Is there a step-by-step guide to setup the TV guide for the UK?

Use WebEPG (http://mypage.bluewin.ch/webepg/), it is based on www.mydigiguide.com, www.bleb.org and xmltv.radiotimes.com for UK. And if you use a CVS version, you will have the setup integrated in the MP Wizard!

Ok, i have it, but how do i get the channel list in MP?

Read the manual which came with it. There is a step by step guide.
You need to use the media portal setup program to make a backup of your channels.
