fixed WebEPG - Nothing Happens

I have recently installed MP RC1 and am planning to use webEPG. I have had webPEG working before, then it was just a simple matter of running webEPG-conf and set the channels right, then run the webEPG executable. I could then see the EPG file being created in the /xmltv folder.

Now however, nothing happens. I have used webEPG-conf to set the channels right, this seems to work. But when I try to run the webEPG executable, nothing happens. No EPG file starts to be created in the xmltv folder. What could this be due to?

I have read somewhere that webepg-conf is supposed to create a file in the WebEPG folder, but I don't have any file there. Could this be a problem?

Do you use the rc1 or a svn snapshot? Because in the latest svn release (5-23) I use the tvguide.xml is created elsewhere namely in c:\programdata\team mediaportal\mediaportal\xmltv (using vista for xp I do not know where).

I use RC1 with the latest snapshot installed, and I also use XP FYI. So the .xml file is maybe generated somewhere else? I'll have to check that. Thanks alot!

EDIT: Sorry to say I can't find any tvguide.xml file anywhere, so it seems it isn't created at all. Wonder what might be the problem then? I have set my firewall to allow all of webEPG:s activities.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Appdata\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\xmltv should be the folder, you need to make sure the xmltv.dtd file is also there.

It seems I don't have that folder, in fact I don't have any mediaportal folder in documents and settings at all. So something isn't working as it's supposed to I guess? I have tried reinstalling Mediaportal by the way, but that made no difference.

Ah, there it was!

Seeco: Do you show hidden files and folders?

Tyrann: Good tip! I can now see the .xml file in the xmltv folder, but there isn't any xmltv.dtd. Why might that be?

EDIT: OK, I copied the xmltv.dtd from the xmltv folder in the regular program folder for Mediaportal. It now seems to create a tvguide file as it is supposed to. It ends up to be something like 170kb, does that seem reasonable? Although I can't see anything in the EPG inside Mediaportal. If I go to the EPG and choose "Import TV Guide" (it's in swedish so I don't know the exact translation) it appears to import the guide, it says "21 channels, 300 entrys" or something like that. Only nothing appears in the actual guide.

Is there any special settings that should be made inside the Mediaportal configuration/TV/Program guide?

EDIT2: OK so this is really weird. If I select an individual channel in the EPG I can see the entrys, but when I browse all the channels nothing is shown! Maybe it didn't download the entrys for monday, and since the clock just passed 12 I won't be able to see anything until later today?

EDIT3: So it's a new day and finally the EPG seems to be working. Thanks alot to all of you for helping me out! How do I mark this thread as "fixed"?
