Well, here it's another idea, i wish that weather overlay returns again into MP so i've added it to basic home screen. I'm not sure about the Now Playing overlay... the bottom bar has no enough space to hold it, so i've decided to use the top left are, but i'm no sure about design... need your oppinions and ideas.

You are a god amongst skinners, VERY nice idea with the now playing!
However, would it not be more clean if the clock and weatheroverlay was moved to the bottom?
Below the black botton bar.. Just an idea

Hi patricon,

..the weatheroverlay will not come back into mp, i think. Because it has do to many trouble in the code.

I have disabled the overlay stuff in Basichomescreen, because it has not can become the same place like in other sreens, because it´s not enough space on the button. The submenue use the space on this area.

I have do some test´s before the first beta of the skin with other positions of the overlay, but it fits then not to the clean style of the skin, where all stuff is on same place.

I like your basichome icons very much and the new button design too...
I agree with DarkWader, I would prefer to place the weather overlay to the bottom.

what a pitty! well, may be that code for weather overlay could be revised/fixed in the future. About the overlay, can't it be used in other position just for basic home screen?

What do you mean with the overlay? That it cant be placed where Patricon did, because then it will appear on the same place in other screens?
I believe that this can be done, by inserting what's inside of overlay.xml's to basichome.xml with changed positions.

I did this on a funny version of tvseries.xml. Where the overlay was in one position on the main page, and in listview in another place.

how about if we loose the city name (we know where we live) and the symbols of clouds,sun etc....

just display numbers for temperature ?? like 22 or -5 and ofcourse the degree symbol (I can't insert it here for some reason)

When I am thinking about it, I only like the weatheroverlay because of the gfx - it looks nice.
When I want to check the weather I use a local weatherstation hanging on my wall :p

Well, i'm experimenting with some ideas, and i'm now wondering why not to implement a 3D carousel for using in home screen into the code of MP, it could be a standard Basic Home screen, available in three or four models (carousel like this skin and spinsafe revolve, vertical slider like windows media center, horizontal like Replicant...) skin designers only could need to change the icons used and also the position on screen.... of course the included shortcuts into the home menu should be customizable by each user, using 4 or more icons available from each skin. I hope that developers likes my idea and they consider it..

Just imagine Media Portal that way... download, extract and execute the included MediaPortal.exe. I hope that you like it...
