Before I dig any deeper, wanted to ask if the PA...
The "always use maximum buffer" setting forces the asio device to create playback buffers with the maximum size that the device claims it can support. When this setting is off it uses the "preferred" size. Usually the setting that you make though the devices configuration.
Maybe your device is reporting an insane large maximum...

Turning off the last.fm option in pureaudio setup seems to fix this so looks like a problem with the player?
Logs attached but remember I had to end task on MP so might not be complete.

think i finally worked it out
I found some settings for spdif output in the realtek HD audio manager software where I could change from 48 kHz to 44.1 kHz and kapow!!!! output went from noise to recognizable dts / DD for my amp and my ears ;)
Then i just installed wmplayer plugin and everything plays back perfectly in MP!!

PureAudio is not working with RC2 :( looks like this is to do with the code cleaning the devs have been doing.

I cannot see anything wrong in these logs. The plugin is doing what it is supposed to do. For the DTS and also for the 5.1 track.
Because you are using spdif, you get only 2 channels from the 5.1 because spdif only transports 2 channels. PureAudio does not contain an AC3 or DTS encoder.

I gave up on fading entirely, I can live with the clicks. After further testing I think it's coming from ASIO4ALL and the way it interacts with the kernel buffers. No big deal, thanks for the explanation.

Just released a new version. It fixes the problem when used in combination with the miniDisplay plugin, at least in theory :)...
I switched over to analogue outputs to my AVR. I can now use ASIO and PureAudio without any problems. The output sound is excellent.

If i set ASIO4ALL, no sound from my reciver (Asio icon on the trybar start regulary)
