Oh, you found this old thread, so I can update it. ;) The problem was the power supply! Seems like it is dead. I now installed my old one that I first modified with a 80mm Papst fan. Now it all is fine and calm.

MP1 MP2 Using a projector DE
I have a Mitsubishi HC6000 projector which I have hooked up to my HTPC via a HDMI splitter box and it's great. Even DVDs look pretty good on the 2m wide screen, hi-def stuff looks awesome. Admittedly I have a fairly "old" LCD panel (also hooked up to the HDMI splitter), but the picture on my projector is actually better than the TV...

I had a 42" plasma at the lower res, and loved it. Depending on how close you are too it, you wont be able to really read text at the 1024x768. But then again, I was about 8' away from mine. really. I ran it at 800x600 and it just looked awesome (it interpolates it). However, shop around, while I love newegg, I find them...

1366x768 - I think this is more or less standard native resolution for a wide set of LCD TVs.. Mine is 32". And I tried a lot of different ways to set up native resolution and nothing.. Even tried some software that allows you to build custom INF files for a monitor to force video adapter to use other resolutions, but this didn't work...

I've just sent back a lovely Samsung LE32R88 tv as it won't take a 50Hz PC signal over DVI/HDMI - I simply couldn't live with the juddervision that the 60Hz refresh rate would have given me. Now obviously I'm left looking for a replacement 32" LCD that will allow me to use the 50Hz (or a multiple of 25 I believe) refresh rate, a...

Well, this JVC TV set is for my parents. They bought this set already and I will be playing with resolutions next week to get MP perfect on the screen. Interesting, i did as you said but the desktop was considerably smaller than the screen. I then did some overscan to the tune of 15% to make it fit the screen but the picture wasnt the greatest. Im better of keeping to the VGA. Its an interesting problem. It might be driver related or limitations of the 1250 onboard graphics.

SOLVED! The problem is in fact in the TV settings. You have to go in the Define inputs setting and set the HDMI input to "PC". In this case the TV will not deinterlace the picture, so it will not shake. Now the picture is perfect! Well, it leaves you with the interlaced picture, but you can't notice it from a normal viewing...

sounds similar to the problem I was having with my toshiba tv. I know you've said that the refresh rate is correct but have you actually tried changing it? Re. component output - I'm pretty sure the component output on current ATi cards is on the same connector as the composite/s-video output - you just need the correct cable (but check first that your card does support component output). It will look better than s-video, and it supports 720p output. Tony
