Thats a good post. Had a lot of good info in it. The one I am trying to find. He had a bunch of pics that went along with his post. He started to show how to build a HTPC then showed hot to build the server. It was the whole deal.

I believe my current setup it’s a bit outdated and I would like to upgrade so that I can take advantage of my new TV that's 1080i capable. My current board uses an AGP slot but it seems most people have moved to PCI express. I’ve done some research and most of the MB’s mentioned here are micro ATX. Can anyone recommend a good...

Just wondering what your guys views are on being able to return PC components as faulty when they cannot work as intended due to bad drivers?

Hello, I’m looking to setting up a satellite setup but I have some questions. I am living in the Netherlands, by the way.
1. What exactly do I need for a satellite setup? My list as I came up to it is like this: a dish, coax-cables, LNB’s to capture the signal, a DiSeQSC (or something) switch and a smartcard offered by Canal...

I just ordered a 3R system HT-1100 case which in my opinion looks quite good, and it has room for full-size ATX.
I'll comment more on it, when I get the chassis and the hardware installed - hopefully tomorrow.

The original DFI nf4 chipset cooler sucks. I changed that bastard a year ago and my ears are happier than ever.
The HR-05 is a very nice chipset cooler, but it can be really hard to mount with a bigger gfx card. I had to bend mine quiet a bit in order to get it done. :D

I have a pretty powerfull HTPC and was thinking of adding TV to it. I currently have Direct-TV and was looking for good options as far as hardware. I now have a spare Dell server lying around. I was thinking of turning it into a TV Server.
It has a 2.8g P4D, 1G RAM, onboard XGI graphics and an 80G HDD a couple of 400G HDDs. The aim is to throw all my tuner cards into it and replace my MP setup with a smaller unit.
Does the TV server need video processing grunt? Do I need...

I've just started to use the TV functionality in MP. Bit of a beast to get going with EPG, set top cable box, freeview stick etc!

I've been looking at this card for a HTPC. The PVR550 seems to work, even though the remote is not native. As far as I can tell, the cards are identical.
Can anyone offer advice? If the chipset is the same & the cards are essentially the same, will it work, or does Media Portal have to be specifically configured for each type?
