kaliatech, thank you for the reply. My temps aren't that bad, even running BOINC/Seti in the background 100% of the time. I credit the two 120mm fans in my case (plus one more in the PSU) for that. :) Interesting to hear about the S/PDIF, that could be a pain! Thinking about it more today, I think I'll go ahead and build it out...

Well if your motherboard has an IrDA connector you can purchase an IrDA reciever that fits in the 3.5" drive bay. It recieves infrared remote commands and they come in beige or black. Only thing is that they are not compatible with girder or other programs that use Parallel, Serial, or USB connections.

The specs of your PC are fine - you don't need anymore RAM (have a look at my specs and I run 2 x DVB-T cards easily). Have you applied the "Multi DVB Tuners Patch" ? Make sure that you read the whole thread before you start to apply the patch. Also, take a look at the "Tips & Tricks" section - there are some useful patches and...

lol haven't got all buttons defined yet, but the crucial buttons for navigation works so that satisfies me for now. when you copy back the old directory, make sure you run the Start.bat from the old version. Another approach that Smirnoff (I think) suggested was to have the proper MP directory and a testing MP directory. they can both run together (not at the same time of course). Just start whichever one you want. Production or test. they...

I was using MPA/MPV codecs. I searched in the forums for "DxVA" and came across this post, installed Nvidia PureVideo and the cpu usage went down to less than 30% when watching tv. Thanks! I know now what my next step is - more ram! Thanks guys for clearing this up for me.

Right, I got that mixed up for some reason. Ya I guess my 2.2 should be good than. I want to capture HD from B*V so I thought it would need a good amount of power. Do you think it could handle recording a HD program on B*V through a NOVA-S-PLUS while I watch a HD mkv 1080p in My Videos? Is that even possible to do?

For most of us there are next to no true HD resources available. I know that the US people have some OTA HD, but here in europe you are limited to a handful of wmv-hd DVD movies, a sat. trial channel and a few other options. Things are getting there, however, we know very little about the distribution. It could well be that...

Here is a link to the review by SilentPCReview in which they give the WD5000KS the title of "Low noise Champ". http://www.silentpcreview.com/article617-page1.html It beats out even the samsung models. Im actually quite please with S4, it resume within seconds and the power usage is low enough for 24/7 operation. Still, Away Mode could be...
