We all know the (dis)advantages of AIW Cards..
But I suppose in Finland he wouldn't stick with this bad analog picture. As far as I know there's even DVB-T there.

Nothing like waking in the morning with a BSOD. Especially when you try to reboot and see the dreaded "No operating system found" message.
But at least was an easy fix: I had my SSD mounted on top of the BlueRay and the SSD SATA connection does not clip on. So the optical drive vibrations shook loose the SATA cable & windows BSODs...

I happen to have an extra HDD to try Vista on, so I installed it into my HTPC and gave it a whirl. I've run the Vista betas on it before, but until the build right before RC 1, it never supported any of my hardware. Then suddenly, that release was made public, and EVERYTHING was supported. MP ran ever since then, with varying degrees...

I guess the noise issue is very subjective and depends on where you put your computer. I was initially using computers for recording music, and since then, I have been obsessed with building computers that are silent enough that other noise sources (such as traffic) become dominant. My point is that computers can be very noisy and...

I currently have a Dvico Dual 1, and can't get the internal header to work so have to have external cables :(
Anyhow I was thinking of getting another dual card and was considering the Nova-t 500.
Anyone got any thoughts on what Dvico's "HDTV" label actually means, and if the Nova-t is just as capable? I ask because whilst I...

Well in my case I use a D-Link DGL-4300 router (108Mbps) with a D-Link DWL-M60AT antenna, that serves all my house (on 2 floors), and also my neighbour, to whom I granted one IP based on his computer's MAC address. He gets a 1 Mbps signal at 30% signal strength, enough for basic surfing.

I was confronted with this decision recently and opted for a 37" Samsung. The 32" models were so close to the 37" ones in price, that 32" didn't seem to make sense. I have a much smaller viewing distance than you, but there is a new stream of thought that with increasing resolution, the ratio of viewing distance to screen size...

Hi there,
Thanks very much for all your input - I installed the new version of Mediaportal as recommended and confirm that it made my Revo seem like a new computer. I cannot stress what a difference it made and would definitely recommend the upgrade.
The EPG is instant and just as fast as my HTPC now.
There are also a few...

So I was still having I/O errors whenever I tried to make a system image using Win7 Backup. Tried reformatting PC twice and doing low level write + read destructive HDD scan tests. Then I thought hmmm might be a bad SATA cable -> Problem seems to be solved now (hopefully).

Interesting idea. All you'd really need is some dividers to separate airflow through different sections and just let it mix back by the exhaust fan. As long as air is flowing in you won't have hotter air going to cooler components. You might not need to do more than isolate the power supply and direct intake air over the CPU given...

S-video is just crap. I used it on my tv for a while, and I thought it was okay,,but once I got the RGB cable s-video is not an option on a crt again!

You should search google for powerstrip timings.

As I said, I could go with the VGA to the VGA input on my TV, too. But thank you for the link. (Newegg shows some for $60, too!)
My resolution with the Ti4200 is something like 1024x768, but not exactly that- 1176x664, IIRC. I'm using the VGA-VGA agian right now and it's always been fine, just not that super-crisp I'm expecting...
