I'm having this problem too. When watching analog TV, and activating the 'subtitles' page, I get the subtitles as expected, but the entire TV screen gets black too. On a normal TV the screen would be transparent so the subtitles get mixed with the TV picture. I hope this problem will be fixed soon, otherwise I think MP is great! :)

I like the idea of selectable zoom modes. In setup you could select which zoom modes to use. As a good video codec can figure aspect ratio for itself, I only need 3 zoom modes which are Normal, Zoom 14:9 and Zoom(16:9).
