Every STABLE update of MP has not recognised a database of some kind, hopefully at some point in the future this will be totally standardised.

Sorry, i am no expert on the program. Have you tried to close cuttermaran and re-starting it before adding a new file?
Also this problem might have to do with cuttermaran only being able to work with de-multiplexed files.
If that doesn't help i have no clue. Try asking on the cuttermaran mailinglist/forum (if there is any).

I am not sure whether it is just me or Media portal is totally unusable in North America with the lack of logical channel...
I'm having this problem too. When watching analog TV, and activating the 'subtitles' page, I get the subtitles as expected, but the entire TV screen gets black too. On a normal TV the screen would be transparent so the subtitles get mixed with the TV picture. I hope this problem will be fixed soon, otherwise I think MP is great! :)

its your backup..some files are still encrypted, you can use aacskeys and dumphd. I usually dont like menus and extras so I edit the xml file to remove the extras and go directly to the main movie, most of the time the only file you need is FEATURE_1.EVO, FEATURE_1.MAP, FEATURE_2.EVO, FEATURE_2.MAP and HV00000 file..Or you can merge...

The Cornerstone scraping engine has zero references to MediaPortal. It does use the NLog library for logging, but that would be easy enough to change or remove.
