I'm not familiar with Pinnacle remote. I use an iMon RSC, and the mute button is mapped to the Windows System Volume "Mute" command, so it mutes/unmutes all Windows sounds.

One of the real things i kind of missed compared to my STB is the fact that it has a logical TV guide in a sense of time. For example, when its between 3:56 and 3:59, it will show me by default, the shows that are on at 4:00, not 3:30.

I think an exellent feature to ad to MediaPortal would be the ablity to read edit dscision lists created by comskip, similar to the way MPlayer does. This would mean that to watch recorded TV sans ads would not require creating a new file (hence taking up less hard drive space) and saves a lot of time also.
