You got it! All I had to do was change one line of code in my program and it's been great. I don't know where I got the idea that files were created as UTF8 by default.
I literally only had to add the part in red:

I'm experiencing a similar issue and just starting to diagnose the issue. MP keeps playing in the background but the portal screen freezes. I will check the logs to look at the song filenames (looking for quotes in the files, etc). Any other suggestions?
