Kind of an old thread to bump but thought i would thank Freakin for the suggestion to go into the Haali settings and set vsfilter to autoload... 'yes'.

Found the reason why I could not scan S2 channels:
the automatically downloaded 23.5 ini file containes S2 transponder infomation which is skipped alltogether. However there is also 23.5 S2 .ini which apparently is used solely for this S2 purpose, but this file did not contain the transponder information for the HD channels I wanted...

Nice find. Because this will be the future. Sure CI+ will be horrible, but surely end to end encrypted systems will become available to HTPC also. The Micrsoft Mediaroom allready supports end to end also.
So a CI+ tuner might be enabled in the future to stream to a next node in you house but only if it fully respects the CI+ rules...

M4TH... I assume you want to hit Bev or Dish... being that you are in Canada. The setting you need is called circular. 11250. That should work for you. I am hitting dish with that setting and am able to pull it down with my skystar2 card. I think that is about the only card right now that can do this.

Out of curiosity, what has everyone's (non-dev) experience been with the new TV-engine build so far?
Sorry to chime in, but having either madvr or something thats as good quality wise (nothing else ive seen comes close) for live tv would so awsome, yeah its sort of possible with ffdshow, but madvr can offload prettly much everything to the gpu and works so well, compared against evr is like chalk and cheese.
