Ah, if I were still using MP TV Server I would happily have done so, but I now use Argus TV Server, with multiple MP1 clients. So I've not used WEBEPG for some time, and no system available to test. Sorry.

Sounds like the MP database would need to keep track of the info from SD and the actual start and end time of the recording. Then a plug-in could mine the data looking for problems and reschedule accordingly.

No with real VT-D HW and ESXi you can passthrough PCIe cards to certain VMs.
I would have gone that route but ESXi still has problems to raw passthrough HDD so I couldn't run ZFS. madm wouldn't have been an issue folks at OMV forum do it.
