I just ran across this article that claims that many of the HDTVs people already have are 3D capable with a fairly easy and cheap tweak. Apparently the software analyzes video that was not originally shot in 3D and makes its own conversions so you can watch any video you already own in 'Tri-Def.' I won't be trying this any time...
