In fact, after the installation, make a complete copy/paste of the mediaportal directory on your hardisk.
When a db is corrupted, or something runs bad... Just copy/paste the MP-backup in your Mp install directory.
With this solution you can restart a valid version of MP in a few seconds... without a complete re-installation...

TARGETDIR is just a hint how to set a different path. You could write
TARGETDIR="E:\HTPC Test\MP"
or just leave the parameter for default. The funny thing was, standard msi parameter INSTALLDIR was ignored. Had to check the log to find it.
