mc2xml's channel IDs haven't got a hope of matching up to MediaPortals.

Well it seems the party is well & truly over.
To fix this bug you need both the TVBusiness layer and the XMLTV dll from the original set of files (TVBusinessLayer got replaced)
If you want a later version of MP than the current SVN you will need to check out the source and compile it yourself

@lisag is using ARGUS TV, which has a completely different XMLTV importer. The advice I've given to you only applies to MediaPortal's TV Server and XMLTV Import plugin; it does not apply to ARGUS TV, which I know little or nothing about.

Some other FTR question... if i mark a program for recording, it does not show up in MP as 'recording'. And vice-versa. Can i select a program in MP to be recorded? And all recording would be done by FTR

Yes, the collector can be used to grab the logos that are used in the official guide. Tick the "use station logos" option on the output tab. XML does not forbid to have linebreaks in text, and this fact is widely used. IMHO that part having problems with it, should strip linebreaks, but not generally "we will remove all linebreaks because (maybe) one part can have problems with it". Linebreaks carry information, dividing text parts one from another.
