Hi Guys (and Girls?),
just a note to say that I am not actively pursuing this issue anymore,
As stated somewhere before I have moved my TV server functionality over to my Linux server in combination with TVHeadend.
Last weekend I migrated my last HTPC (Livingroom) to Linux (Ubuntu Server...
"It is when looking at new opportunities that you realise how valuable it is what you had all along."
For me MediaPortal is not just a ‘free-forever’ software package, it is more. It introduced me into the concept of Open Source and communities. A concept that at first I couldn’t get my...
last update from TT Support is here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/television-mytv-frontend-tv-server-90/technotrend-scrambled-channels-error-85247/index3.html#post646364
For me personally,
I managed to get TVheadend working on my Linux server with an opensource...
currently have my TT setup under linux (tvheadend) for testing, due to limited time I organize rebuilding and switching of the hardware around 'recordings', this is due on friday so that will be the time I will be setting it up in MP again. As you can see here...
thank for the follow up. As I can recall there is an option in TV server with which you can run passed all channels and it would test if you have a valid subscription (test button?), so with this routine you can make it known that there is a valid subscription.
I agree that...
please find attached the logs created with MediaPortal Debug shortcut.
1. start at appr. 7:33
2. Tune to RTL 5 (which is a scrambled channel) -> displays OK
3. Tune to NET 5 (which is a scrambled channel) -> Error -> channel scrambled message
4. retry NET 5 -> same...
thanks for trying. I think not being able to build graph is due to this driver having the new pbda architecture.
Without a decent SDK or other sort of documentation from TT I guess there is not much we can do.
I have the feeling that fixing our problem in the 'old' BDA...
the reaction I got from TT development / support is as follows:
so what they are suggesting is to take it from the new driver and focus all effort on this one.
At least that is how I understand it, no reaction back from them ;)
I understand. When programming another workaround would be to not on first occasion display the scrambled message, but retry for x times and then call the CI reset. This is the default behaviour when recording: live TV throws the scrambled message, recording just keep retrying until the stream...
thanks for your patch. I am also running mysql on linux and have the same error you described.
Does your patch also fix the mini tv guide being empty (when in live tv press enter to display the mini tv guide)? As a non-developer I have to (unfortunately) wait until the next...
thanks for the pointer. What I read over at the DVBforum and the issue that the TT developers are currently (trying to) fix is a timing issue (next to a BSOD). Resetting the CI could be a workaround, but as I don't know where of how to reset it from within MP it is probably a...
just got notified of a new driver for our TT CT3650CI.
It can be downloaded here: dvbshop24.com - The network for PC-TV! - ttusb2bda_220.127.116.11_win7_ci
unfortunately I am into my neck into linux with my TT device, compiling the v4l-dvb drivers and testing, so I cannot test this quickly...
thanks for looking into this thread. Logs will be attached as soon as I get home (work work work ;)
@JeanChristoffe: perhaps you can also provide logs (that is, if you have already upgraded to 1.1 final)
because this thread (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-1-1-0-rc-3-6-519/technotrend-scrambled-channel-82296/#post619129) is closed due to resorting in the old MP version bug section I opened this thread to update on the progress.
Latest update from TT:
and my reply:
I'm back on 18.104.22.168.
but also had my first scrambled message, so problem is still there.
Just came back from vacation, noticed that TT is under really big pressure over on the dvbshop forum because of not delivering a working driver, so I think that is why they first focus...
last night updated to the 1.1 final MP version.
Did some small tests and noticed that I didn't get the 'scrambled' message???
This morning I started the radio (with a scrambled channel) and it just worked???
Tonight I will do some more indepth testing to see if this problem is...
Just came back from holiday's, spend three weeks without computer or Internet (at least that is what my wife thinks ;)) thought I had finally beat my unresistable desire to tinkle and tune MP and now this, whahooooo.
Thanks everybody involved for making this such a great hobby!
just a small update. via the dvbshop forum I have been introduced into the TT support organization.
will follow up when something 'good' evolves from this ;)
Thanks JC and Zappza for backing me up over there ;)
@Riksmith and Morpheus_xx,
What I read here and how I interpret it is that they (TT) cannot change how MCE interacts with regards to descrambling so they handle the decrypting in the driver. This as how MediaPortal handles it now: in the TV Server.
So this could be a good change for us...
Re: AW: MP TV server - linux client
Hi, this is exactly my view of the situation.... that's why I asked for some more info, just in case I would have missed something.
I know there where some discussions regarding a high-level / cover all aspects / pvr design, but nobody seemed to pick up...
just as an update, got a reply over at the DVB forum: dvbshop24.com - The network for PC-TV! - TT CT3650 CI and MediaPortal - Forum and Support dvbshop24.com
Here's there answer:
and here's my reply:
This does however shed some light on why decryption is not working and what...
Cool, quoting my own message ;)
Just got notified on the dvbschop24 forum that a new version of the driver is available. This version is a response to the 'cannot build graph' message I posted, so.......
bugger, I am still at work so I cannot test right away....
Anyway, the new version can be...
Hi, just cross posted result in the dvbschop24.com support site. There is bount to be somebody who will see that MP has *huge* potential when addressed correctly ;)
dvbshop24.com - The network for PC-TV! - TT CT3650 CI and MediaPortal - Forum and Support dvbshop24.com
I know but I installed it anyway, the text says that when using it in combination with MCE you can get CI issues (double). This is where I feel our problem is located. The 'release notes' just say that a BSOD is fixed.
So I just went ahead and tried. installed new driver 22.214.171.124...
just got notified of a new driver being available, I have done a rough translation from German to English.
The driver can be found here: http://www.dvbshop24.com/images/fbfiles/files/ttusb2bda_1-8c1dd42ae3e8677b7cc0ccddc3bfcf3f.zip
Will be testing tonight, will report back...
And here is their reply:
I will follow up on this reply and ask them what this means in terms of time and approach ;)
will update here,
just got a reply that the TT support developers will watch this problem ASAP.
In the Netherlands we have a saying 'you need to...
I have also a long background in IT starting as network administrator I have seen and worked throughout the whole OSI model, even managed several software development teams: both MS as legacy.
I feel frustrated, but looking beyond that it teaches me something very valuable...
Breathe in....... breathe out......
I am beyond that already ;), already using MP for 6 (long) years.... have had my share of feeling stupid and then not feeling so stupid ;)
Hope we can join forces on this one, because for me it is not only the TT product that is on the virtue of going out...
