What if you just set three simultaneous recordings? Does it happen then? Do the end times for the three recordings all need to be the same? Does only the final recording on each channel carry on, or does it happen with the others? What is your pre/post record time (and does this work okay)...
Do you mean you set a single recording in each case to cover the time period, or you set separate recordings in the EPG for each individual program?
Perhaps you can set the same schedules for tomorrow, then zip and upload your TV database. Maybe we will find that the schedule is set incorrectly?
Well, if you are able to schedule a series recording for something that is on every day at a certain time, and then cause the problem by adding more schedules close in time, that would be useful.
How many tuners do you have?
Can you reproduce this more or less every time? If so, it might be worth trying to add some logging to MP to give more information about what is going on.
It would be good to know if we are checking whether it is time to stop recording and the check fails, or whether we do not check at all.
Please bear in mind that MP is coded by volunteers. Anyone reading this who would like to dig into the code and work it out is welcome to do so and to submit a patch.
Best guess - there is a < that should be a <=
Whenever you set a series recording and then cancel an episode, an entry is created in the 'canceledschedule' table in the database.
This allows MP to check and not record this one.
The problem is, these are NEVER removed.
With the fix...
Well, where there are duplicate files (which is effectively what this is) how does MP know whether it is correct to ignore one? If this was 'fixed' we would get someone claiming that their file was ignored because of the bad logic.
The solution is simple enough. Move one of the files to a...
For 1.8.0 we should include this. Because we are putting out a new release every 3 months, if we find any opportunities to improve things, we can fix them for 1.9.0.
The simple reality is that we won't have TV users in all of those regions. If something gets out of date, a user in that region...
It would probably best if you can make a shorter log that shows the problem without all of the extra stuff. Use the log collector - start MediaPortal Debug-Mode from the start menu. There are explanations in the forum and documentation.
Seb - since Jira indicates that this is ready to merge, what needs to be done to sort this? Do we need to liaise with @mm1352000 in case anything is needed for TVE35? I think TVE35 is already ahead of us so I don't think anything will need doing, but I'd prefer to check.
You have so many errors in your logs that I am not sure where to even start.
I would strongly advise doing a clean install of MediaPortal (get rid of all databases - there are errors for TV and MovingPictures databases at least) and add plugins one at a time and see how it goes.
Perhaps there is something weird going on then, because not all of those titles have all of the letters D, E and F in them, but many of my other film titles do, so it isn't clear to me what is being filtered.
I'll have a look at the docs and see if I can work out what is happening.
Fixes for this have been included in MediaPortal 1.7.0. However, they do not automatically work in MovingPictures. In fact, what happens is not clear to me. If I am in 'all movies' list view, and hit '3' on my remote three times, I see the attached. It seems to be doing some filtering, but I...
As noted before, if someone can find the time to update the files, this would be great as we can include them in the next release.
I am sure it doesn't need pointing out, but the team are all volunteers and no-one gets paid for this, so we do need the community to help in many areas.
