Unified Media Manager (a Team Project), who here wants to help code this new project?

We just release XBMC Meda Center 9.04 point release so the server is a bit overloaded at the moment. That is just one idea but not the main function nor something that is likely to be added first. Their idea is that this media manager will foremost be a standalone desktop application to manage...

Unified Media Manager (a Team Project), who here wants to help code this new project?

There is a few folks that make some of the current desktop media management software tools for XBMC Media Center that have expressed an interest in doing a unified media manager tool for desktop use that would be available as a new larger open source project with many contributing developers...

    MP over XBMC?

Comparing Apples and Oranges... FYI; XBMC 9.04 already has a refreshrate switcher ("Adjust Refresh Rate" in settings), and something similar to reclock is coming soon, see: Smoothvideo branch - XBMC Community Forum ;) Not true, Team-XBMC only said that we do not have a developer who is...

    MediaStream skin for MP

Would a moderator mind renaming the thread topic summery to "MediaStream skin for MP" or something, as again this is not "Plex" skin, but a skin by Team Razorfish for XBMC that is called "MediaStream" , give credit where credit is due and all that :P Team Razorfish Team Razorfish

    MediaStream skin for MP

in XBMC it has an option (under settings) to enable BIG fonts for the ones of us that are too cool for glasses ;)
  8. G

    MediaStream skin for MP

You are almost correct, here is the fact; That skin is named "MediaStream" and is made by Team Razorfish for XBMC. Plex is only a fork (not forge) of XBMC for Mac and can thus use XBMC skins. Note! Team Razorfish currently only support their skin in XBMC, not Plex :)

Suggestion to use XBMC's XML scrapers for HTTP scraping

FYI; XBMC now uses its same generic scrapers (importers) API that I initially described in the first post for not only Movies (and Porn), but also for TV-Shows, Music Videos, and Music. They automatically download Posters, Album Cover Art, Banners, Screenshots, and Fan Art from multiple sites...

    XBMC Python Script

Great work EvilDude! I for one is still curious how your script and work could be combined with thechad's python script for XBMC and MediaPortal plugin, (in order to get the best of both in one script so to speak), see => MP & XBMC intergration scripts v0.6d Update 4-MAR-07 - MediaPortal...

    XBMC Python Script

EvilDude, there is already a python script for XBMC that can control MediaPortal, (as I understand the only thing that script do not yet support is Live-TV streaming), so maybe you like to start by extending that existing script, see: MP & XBMC intergration scripts v0.6d Update 4-MAR-07 -...

Suggestion to use XBMC's XML scrapers for HTTP scraping

As I posted FYI information on the MeediOS forum though I should post it here too: Team-XBMC have plans (in the not so soon future) to also implement the same scraper API and similar XML-files for music (and other audio files) metadata scraping of the internet, and later maybe even when other...

Suggestion to use XBMC's XML scrapers for HTTP scraping

Just a heads-up; a couple of XBMC developer are now currently in the process of finalizing a new scraper which uses the slightly updated scraper API in XBMC, so if anyone plans on integrating this into MediaPortal today then maybe you should wait for just a couple weeks first, (otherwise your...

Suggestion to use XBMC's XML scrapers for HTTP scraping

I would like to suggest that MediaPortal should start using XBMC's XML scrapers for HTTP media information scraping. XBMC today has a very nice generic API for letting anyone create and/or maintain XML and Perl Compatible Regular Expression (PCRE RegExp) based parsing scrapers without prior...

Flipit, you should test XBMC for Linux or XBMC for Windows (XBMC for Xbox is not fully UPnP compliant as the Xbox do not support multicast). GPU assisted video decoding would be much cheaper 350-400 Euro and no HDMI with HDCP output is way to much (I would even pay that much for a decoding card with HDMI and HDCP). The GeForce 8400 from NVIDIA will be out soon and will cost much less that that and still feature PureVideo HD...

Why reinvent the wheel? XBMC doesn't need to extract the whole file to play files from RAR/ZIP, XBMC can stream data directly from the RAR/ZIP files without unpacking it first, it is done on-the-fly so there is no waiting, the video from inside it plays instantly which is the beauty of the...
