That's a very good generic reply (no offence but almost like a marketing department reply), yet it doesn't answer what I asked.
MP2 is meant (or was meant last time I checked) to REPLACE MP1. I remember first MP2 release years ago! And I also recall that MP1 was supposed to stop a few updates...
I possibly don't count as a newcomer, but I don't follow MP too much these days (or the forums at all).
My question is the question a newbie would ask though (well ok not one question but actually the same thing):
How is MP2 progressing? Is it really replacing MP1 more sooner...
Edalex I want these cleaned because I don't plan seeing those folders only through MP. Actually they are not even on my MP machine, they are on my server.
Right now some have cr*ppy filenames and definitely no folder follows the same convention as the next (what happens over the years of no...
OK I am not really a newcomer, just absent for too long, so almost same thing.
Here is the issue (which I am sure has been asked many times before - I did some search - but got more confused)...
I have a bunch of movies, that are NOT arranged in any particular way I like right now and some...
Well I wonder if there is any plugin or set of plugins that could turn a mediaportal computer to a stream source using any or all of the protocols mentioned in my title.
Esp. over the web, I wonder if we could get some MP control and streaming over the Internet. I am looking for a way to get...
I have 4.0rc1. I plan to install 4.0 final or 5.0 experimental (having an internal fight over it).
I also have a pre-RC1 MP that I plan to upgrade to RC1.
What is the correct procedure? Should I remove 4.0rc1 and then install the new version? Or will it work "over" the old one?
Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)
QUICK QUESTION (searched for an answer and didn't find):
Should I remove 4.0rc1 (sorry this is the last I had installed) and THEN install 5.0 experimental or can I install over it?
Will the "old" unlock, still work?
ok yes now I understand - thanks
BTW, the most important reason I wouldn't go to unRAID today is Tom.
...and no I am not willing to elaborate or even defend this position.
It is my own opinion, take it or leave it.
Already said that, didn't I?
Even then, the main point remains: Going from 1.0 to 1.0X to 1.1, involves removal-reinstall (and setup again). Well... it shouldn't.
I am sure at least some people see what I mean.
I understand the need for clean setups (I try to do this in any given software when I can), but this policy that goes for years in MP that you need to scratch everything and start over is tiresome.
Parallel to people having WM phones just to try custom ROMs (so they rarely install more than 10...
I didn't ask for anything, did I?
I am the last to (want or be able to) rush the project.
I just commented on a fact.
Now if my post is read as irony (funny how another non-native English speaker was the first to point this out), please ignore. Facts are facts though.
...talking about a delay eh?
Passed four months and counting... When you talk about delays you REALLY MEAN IT. :)
I wonder if RC1 is 4-months-and-counting delayed... 1.1 or... 2.0 is like when? Another life time? :D
(explanation because I know some people are hyper-sensitive: I know this can...
Windows (exp. Windows Home Server) and FlexRAID...
or Linux with FlexRAID
...I prefer Windows since I make my 24/7 machine do soooo many additional things (torrents, streaming from TV or from my MP3/video collection etc.)
the things that made me run away from unRAID don't necessarily mean they...
Bob I currently use unRAID for my storage. Uninstalling it in a few days (even though I use it for years and have paid for it)... I decided than an always-on machine should be able to do more than just serve/store files.
You should go to WHS + FlexRAID. In fact this machine will do for you much...
Well first I am gonna write a third article on how I decided to kill one of my PCs (that I rarely used) to actually upgrade my whole NAS setup.
An unbelievable torture that will take days to accomplish.
Before suffering the actual torture, I will translate the three articles. ;)
Your help please.
TV-Server configuration crashes while trying to TV channel scan a specific card on my system.
Also if I try to scan for radio channels, it finds none (but the major problem is the crash above).
This happens only with my PVR-350. My HVR scans fine (TV, DVB-T and radio)...
I've searched wiki and I would search the forum if I knew what term to search.
Anyway I am trying to scan for DVB-T channels in my area (Attika - Greece) and TV-Server doesn't find a thing.
Note Hauppauge own application, finds the four digital channels fine.
Also note that TV-Servers finds...
Well to be honest if someone sets resyncing once a day, is normally good enough (again for a home solution).
If a disk dies then that you lost the last 24 hours (statistically about ~12 hours in fact) of data is not much of a problem.
If that is still a problem, a 12 hour resyncing must be good...
Note that nobody forces you to actually make your storage "multipurpose". It's just that with flexRAID you actually can.
You could just as easily install flexRAID on a linux machine (as it is compatible with linux too), make a tight schedule (sync -if there is anything to sync- every...
Well the developer just negates most of the positives of unRAID.
unRAID is a great idea, but Tom just stayed there for too long.
I also hate that he is ignoring his own community.
He is supposedly working on the next big release. Hope it's a strike, for his own good.
I am certainly keeping my...
