Synopsis:
the SS2 cannot be configured using the Configuration.exe tool, it crashes!
If I use the first-time configuration, it is not crashing, but it will not find any channel.
If I re-use the TV database from 0.1.3.0, it crashes also.
The the SS2 is working well in 0.1.3.0 and in 0.2.0 RC1, even if with some problems in RC1. In RC2 is not working at all!
Problem already reported in General Support (http://nolanparty.com/mediaportal.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11637).
I tried also several CVSs, but with no luck.
Please help!

try installing SP2, thats nearly the only difference i can find to my system.
got a Xp2500+, a 9800Pro, XP Pro with Sp2 .Net 2.0 and 1.1(do you have both?)
if you come to #mediaportal this evening, we can look what we can do... ill stay till ~ 21:30! If i remember right ur german to, so tiome shouldnt be the problem!

I'd like to skip the SP2 if not really needed on my media center, as I have had already problems with it on another pc!
Yes I have both .Net 2.0 and 1.1, I hope this is not the problem.
Unfortunately I have read you post too late to join #mediaportal. Do you use a different nick for that?

Problems with SP2 on another PC or not, the Requirements Page says that the minimum requirements include "Windows XP with SP2", so give that a shot before posting a bug report.

Sorry for that... last time I checked the requirments, SP2 was not necessary!

Anyway, I wanted to update my bug report, saying that at least I have solved it temporarely doing like suggested from abaper in http://nolanparty.com/mediaportal.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11637

This means that I am still using SP1 in addition to .NET 2.0 and .NET 1.1, but I have changed the latest TVCapture.dll file (1.0.2193.2008) against an old one from CVS 11-07-2005 (1.0.2137.42163).
I have done the first wizard configuration and the SS2 found all channels.

There are still some open issues like:
- the OSD is not coming out
- the channel change is really slow
- when on an encrypted channel it doesn't change channel anymore
but at list TV is showing again.

Apart from the above messages, there is no other error logged.

It would be nice to have someone checking it with the SP2 installed, in order to be sure that this is the real problem.

on a Win xp pro SP2, .net 2, ss2 2.6c and is working fine!

Finally I have given SP2 a try... it seems to be the real cause!

With SP2 the latest TVCapture.dll (1.0.2195.1866) works and the channel change is fast enough

Hi,

I tested yesterday the RC2 with newest cvs with my ss2. net2 and sp2 and newest ss2 driver is installed. Everything works fine also the tuning of the channels works.

But very often MP crashs if I changed the channels. Tryed different codecs but this was no solution.
So I went back to 0.1.3

Hope it become more stable in the future.
