No idea ? Any alternatives to MP ?

tried KNCs "GlobeTV": good signal, stations found, but no pic...
tried SceneoTV: Claims to miss current DirectX (9.0c installed) - no install either
tried LinVDR: no GUI, no time to fiddlw around with Linux (thought it may be mostly complete after install)

    Hi,
No logs = no clue ;)
but try to install fresh, that means uninstall MP & reboot, rename MediaPortal folder & install RC3 + latest SVN again & the run MP Configuration to set up your system...

    Regards

Try the ATI catalyst driver from february 2007 version 7.2, because later drivers seem to cause problems, if this does not repair then below may be needed.

Your xp installation maybe corrupt, might, just might be worth a format and reinstall, especially if you have been installing\uninstalling lots of programs.

MP 0.2.3 starts but crashes HARD -> bye, MediaPC

    ok, LAST TRY:

reinstalled XP (this time German version, before was English) , BDA drivers, ATI driver mainboard version (only 7.10 avail, older versions not).:

    MP 0.2.3. starts, but
    - does not recognize the KNC one DVB-S card (with BDA drivers installed)
    - hangs reproducably on some menu items, e.g. "settings -> my TV -> [any of the 1st 4 entries, rest works] "

Frozen MP does not even react to XPs Task Manager's end command, so a PC reset or waiiiiting is always necessary.

Also I see no real alternative for stable DVB cards - seem to be all scrap, maybe save the DigitalEverywhere, but two of these cost 320€ - almost the same as a twin HDD luxury receiver with HDD + USB exit (Kathrein UFS 821) . However, that one HDD receiver works stable, only MP3 fucntions are weird + DVD burn is a 2step process + no real movie archive possible. But it's not worth wasting time to get stable TV with scrappy TV software on Scrappy DVB Hardware on a more than questionable OS.

So I might use the new "silent PC" just for office work and buy a new DVDplayer which can play Mp3 from DVD.

BTW, support status of the MP alternatives:
    - Globe TV from KNC needs a separate MP2 decoder to show a picture (I didn't install the included Sonic DVD Player), can't use other installed products (new regulation of MPEG patent holders)
    - Sceneo has stopped selling their TVCentral3, only an instable V4 Alpha is available for public testing, and a smaller version (TVsomething)
