Long time lurker, first time poster.

So there are two HTPC's in my house, downstairs one is on a really nice box, upstairs one is on an old dell box just so that TV shows can be watched off of the server. Both run MediaPortal. So the upstairs HTPC has been one problem after the other, first I had to figure out to switch to EVR because the video card is a Radeon 9200, second the Insignia can't display any other resolution from the VGA input other than 1024x768, which was fixed by having the TV stretch it wide and having the default zoom settings for mediaportal as Strech.

But now I have my current problem. I added the mounted network drives for the video and music folders the same way I did downstairs, but it shows 0 objects. Yet sometimes some of the folders work. There's 3 TV folders set up for the Video and 1 for Music, MovingPictures works fine. At one point only one of the video folders worked, and the other two didn't, so I restarted MediPortal and then two of them worked and one didn't. Then I restarted Windows and none of them work. It's starting to become really frustrating. ANY help would be appreciated.

The problem might be that Windows does not connect mapped network drives unless you first access them, so MP does not see them directly after boot.
Try to open the mapped drives in Windows explorer before you start Mediaportal. If everything works, then that's the problem.
Btw: This problem is not limited to MP, my itunes has exactly the same problem.

To get rid of the problem, you should generally not use mapped drives, but the network share itself (i.e. \\server\share).
