I have window XP sp3 with all current updates. I installed the dvb fix. It will scan the channels and they find them. I have been using 1.1.x for a while now without any issues other than occasional crashes, slow and other bugs. I uninstalled completely and did a fresh install because it was not working this did not help. When I try to start up MediaPortal I get the error that It could not connect to the TV services. Is this broken for XP now? Everything I read says it should work. I do get a warning that this set up is not supported because microsoft did not install some hotfixes but I can find no documentation indicating any other hotfixes than the dvb hotfixes which i have installed. Anyone else with this problem? Ok I found some of my issues. I was trying to name my tv server. once I took that out it is now coming up with the tv on this but it but I now have an error saying there are no available cards. When I was having the other issue I upgraded by tv card. so I found that it was starting the hauppauge tvserver. I turned that off and I made sure the correct one was started but I am still get the same error of no tv cards available. Any suggestions? I was getting a little desperate here because my wife's shows are coming on, but I think I finally got it. I had mistakenly moved the channels so they weren't on the card. Once I moved them back to the card it was working. I could swear that I had to move them to the card on the older version. Hope my screwups helps some others ;)
